On Thursday, January 27, 2011 at approximately 6:15 AM, units of the San Jose Fire Department received a report of a working structure fire in a single-story, single-family dwelling located at 642 North 13th Street near downtown San Jose.
Upon their arrival fire crews immediately launched an offensive attack while conducting an interior search to confirm no one remained inside the residence. Once firefighters were satisfied that everyone had escaped the home they continued interior operations and ventilation to limit the spread of the fire within the structure.
Units responding to this incident included San Jose Fire Department Engine 8, Engine 1, Engine 5, Truck Company 1, USAR Company 34, Med 30, Battalion 1 and Battalion 29.
Firefighters were able to achieve a quick knockdown of the fire with no civilians or firefighters receiving any injuries.
