Two-Alarm Fire Damages Willow Glen Home
On Sunday, August 17, 2015, at 5:34 p.m., units of the San José Fire Department were dispatched to 1375 Bird Avenue for reports of a garage fire in a one-story, single family dwelling.
First due Engine 6 reported a large column of smoke showing from the station and arrived on scene within minutes to find heavy smoke and fire showing from a garage and vehicles parked in the home’s driveway. Fire attack was initiated and a second-alarm struck as fire began to extend into the home and threatened adjacent structures.
Crews were able to quickly contain the blaze with the fire under control at 6:44 p.m. Occupants of the home were assisted by the Red Cross. Assignment:
