Two-Alarm fire leaves five homeless in San José
On Friday, October 3, 2014, at 2211 hours, the San José Fire Department responded to numerous 9-1-1 calls reporting a car on fire inside the garage on the first floor of a two-story condominium located at 2050 Delbarr Court.
While en route, Engine Company 26 company officer reported a large column of smoke visible from several blocks away. As firefighters arrived on scene they discovered heavy fire and smoke issuing from both the first floor and second floor.
Crews immediately initiated fire suppression operations with the goal of preventing flames from extending to the neighboring unit and possibly consuming the entire building.
Firefighters were successful in containing the fire to a single unit and were able to bring the blaze under control just before midnight. There were no injuries reported, but five occupants were displaced from the home.Assignment:
