Two-Alarm fire destroys Saratoga home
On Friday, May 16, 2008 units of the Saratoga, Palo Alto and Santa Clara County Fire Departments combined efforts to contain a large fire that broke out in a home on Durham Court in the town of Saratoga some time before 2:50 p.m.
The first unit on scene, Palo Alto Truck 6, observed a column of smoke while en route back to their home quarters from a training engagement. Once on scene firefighters initiated an offensive attack and search that was cut short when the roof of the single-story home collapsed.
After firefighters vacated the structure a defensive attack was successfully deployed to contain the blaze to the fire building and protect residential exposures. There were no injuries reported. Are you a member of the fire service?
