San José Firefighters Rescue Residents, Pets From Burning Structure
On Thursday, November 12, 2015, at 1337 hours, units of the San José Fire Department responded to reports of a residential structure fire at 839 East William Street.
Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and fire showing from the garage of a three-story, multi-unit dwelling. Firefighters immediately set about attacking the fire while assisting a family of five from the structure and rescuing two unresponsive pet dogs.
Firefighters worked quickly to provide life-saving medical care to the animals, both of which were resuscitated successfully. There were no reports of injuries to any residents, but the fire left nearly 20 people homeless. Assignment:
