Vegetation fire corralled by San José Firefighters
On Saturday, September 17, 2005 at approximately 3:20 PM, units of the San Jose Fire Department responded to multiple reports of flames and smoke coming from a creek bed adjacent to a food processing plant and a large apartment complex at 475 Eggo Way.
Due to the heavy fuel load, breezy conditions, and the proximity of the fire to various structures the incident commander called for additional resources to augment the initial response. Firefighters were able to stop the spread of the fire before any structures were damaged and the fire was declared under control within a relatively short period of time.
Firefighters remained on the scene well after the flames had been doused to conduct extensive overhaul. Are you a member of the fire service?
