Fire Destroys Willow Glen Home Under Construction

On Wednesday, February 3, 2015, at approximately 8:15 PM, units of the San José Fire Department responded to multiple reports of a working structure fire at 1041 Ellis Avenue in the city's Willow Glen neighborhood.

Firefighters arrived to find a fully involved home under construction with multiple exposures threatened.

Crews worked quickly to establish a defensive attack utilizing multiple hand lines and an aerial master stream.

The fire completely engulfed the main fire building and damaged two neighboring homes. Another home one street to the north also suffered minor damage after an ember from the main fire landed on the home's roof touching off a small fire that was quickly extinguished.

There were no injuries reported.
