San Jose's Bravest douse marijuana grow house fire
On Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at 3:09 PM, units of the San José Fire Department responded to 9-1-1 reports of smoke seen from a home located in the 1800 block of Fumia Place.
While working to locate and extinguish the blaze firefighters discovered that the two-story home was being used as a marijuana grow operation with approximately 80 plants inside.
During their operations firefighters also discovered that the home had been rewired to illegally access electricity for powering a ventilation system and heat lamps used to cultivate marijuana.
The home suffered significant damage with firefighters able to contain the fire just after 4:30 PM. San Jose police then moved in and confiscated the plants. There was no one home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. Are you a member of the fire service?
