Stubborn two-alarm structure fire tackled by Santa Clara Firefighters
On Sunday, March 2 at 1238 hours, units of the City of Santa Clara Fire Department were dispatched to a call for service reporting an electrical fire at 1667 Jackson Street. While en route a second caller reported a basement fire with smoke and flames showing.
The first crews to arrive located and entered the basement of a two story multiple family dwelling and discovered a working fire that was quickly knocked down. Before the basement blaze could be completely extinguished fire extended into the structure’s walls forcing firefighters to chase flames by opening up walls and the roof.
Firefighters were able to locate and douse all fire saving the majority of the structure from additional damage. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. Are you a member of the fire service?
