San José Firefighters douse duplex garage fire

On Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 0711 hours, San José Firefighters responded to reports of a residential structure fire at 645 Jasper Street in Station 8's first due. Upon arrival the crew of Engine 8 initiated an offensive fire attack quickly knocking down the main body of fire in one of two garages attached to the duplex.

All of the occupants were able to escape the structure without injury while firefighters successfully prevented the blaze from extending to the living areas of the structure. In all, 10 residents and several pets were temporarily displaced with the Red Cross assisting six people with shelter.
