Two-Alarm Fire Sweeps San Jose Home

On Friday, March 19, 2010 at approximately 4:30 AM, units of the San Jose Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 1579 Keesling Avenue.

The first unit on scene reported heavy fire and smoke conditions in a one story, single family dwelling leading to a second-alarm for additional companies. Using multiple hand lines, firefighters were able to keep the fire contained to the original structure while protecting exposures on at least two sides of the home.

Firefighters were able to confirm that all occupants had safely evacuated the structure and there were no reports of injuries. The bulk of the fire was extinguished within 50-minutes of the first unit's arrival.
