Two-alarm fire destroys San José business
On Tuesday, September 16th, 2014, at 1:59 AM, units of the San José Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at 751 Mabury Road near Oakland Road and Highway 101 in an industrial area of San José.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire showing from a trailer that served as an office and dozens of wooden pallets in the yard of Chualar Pallet & Boxes. A second-alarm was struck as crews established defensive positions around the blaze with two aerial master streams, two deck guns and multiple hand lines being placed into operation.
Crews were able to protect adjacent exposures keeping the fire from spreading to a neighboring lumber yard and another structure housing an auto body shop. Several vehicles were damaged or destroyed by the fire as it spread along a fence line. Are you a member of the fire service?
