Fire blackens six acres in Almaden Quicksilver Park

On Saturday, September 5, 2009, firefighters from multiple agencies worked in concert to tame a vegetation fire that had broken out in the hills above San Jose's Almaden Valley.

The blaze blackened approximately six acres within the confines of the Almaden Quicksilver County Park, but firefighters were able to contain the fire in just over two hours. The City of San Jose Fire Department was assisted by CAL FIRE and the Santa Clara County Fire Department.
