Stubborn fire damages San Jose apartments

On Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 2:47 PM, units of the San Jose Fire Department responded to a report of smoke seen from the roof vents of a single story multi-unit apartment building at 2630 Mueller Avenue on the east side of San Jose.

Arriving firefighters mounted an aggressive fire attack after discovering heavy smoke and fire that had extended into the structure's attic from between two apartment units. A second alarm was struck bringing additional crews to the scene to assist with fire suppression and salvage efforts.

One civilian was transported to an area hospital for a minor condition.
