San José Firefighters make quick work of small structure fire
On Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at 1:46 PM, units of the San José Fire Department responded to multiple reports of a structure fire located at the corner of Myrtle Street and Hamline Street in the Newhall neighborhood near Interstate 880 and The Alameda.
Firefighters arrived to find a small fully involved out building adjacent to two homes with fire extending to nearby vegetation. Although embers from the blaze threatened adjacent residences firefighters were able to quickly stretch hose lines into place and extinguish the fire before it could extend beyond the original fire building.
Crews from Engine 1, Engine 5, Engine 7 and Truck 1 were able to quickly knockdown the fire. There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident. Are you a member of the fire service?
