Duplex fire leaves six homeless
On Tuesday, June 3rd, 2014, at 1452 hours, San José firefighters responded to reports of a structure fire at 162 North King Road. Upon arrival a working fire was confirmed with heavy smoke and flames showing from one unit of a single story residential duplex.
Firefighters initiated an aggressive offensive attack to contain the blaze to the unit of origin, while assisting the occupants after they had successfully escaped the building.
Although the fire was knocked down in under 20-minutes, the fire unit sustained heavy damage leaving the space unlivable. The American Red Cross of Silicon Valley was summoned to provide additional assistance to the family of four children and two adults. Are you a member of the fire service?
