Nearly 200 Rescued by San José Firefighters After Coyote Creek Floods Neighborhood

On Tuesday morning, February 21, 2017, San José Firefighters responded to the area of Nordale Avenue and Rock Springs Drive for reports of flood waters from the Coyote Creek inundating several streets in a neighborhood south of Kelley Park.

The crew of Squad 26 arrived to find numerous residents trapped by rising water. A major rescue operation including several rescue boats was quickly mounted as firefighters worked to evacuate almost 200 residents from the area.

Firefighters were able to safely rescue all residents in the affected area with no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
