Two-Alarm fire sweeps East San José home
On Sunday, July 24, 2006, at approximately 1:14 AM, multiple companies of San Jose Firefighters responded to a greater alarm structure fire that broke out in a two story single family dwelling at 2081 Silence Drive on the city's east side.
The fire may have started as a result of candles being used to provide illumination during a large power outage. Several sections of the city of San Jose have experienced extended electrical outages due to a heat wave that has led to dozens of electrical pole fires and transformer explosions.
Residents of the home were transported to a local hospital for precautionary reasons, but there were no reports of injuries. The fire required over 30-minutes to contain and the house suffered extensive damage. Are you a member of the fire service?
