Fire destroys vehicles, damages structure in West San José
On Tuesday, January 27th, 2015, at 0331 hours, San José Firefighters responded to reports of a carport fire at 1225 Weyburn Lane. First due Engine 15 arrived on scene and confirmed a working fire rapidly spreading from a carport and three fully involved vehicles to a four-unit multi-family dwelling.
The crew of Engine 15 immediately stretched an attack line into place and began to knockdown the fire while striking a precautionary second-alarm. Firefighters were able to limit the damage to the vehicles and carport while preventing the fire from extending to the main structure with only water damage to one unit.
Residents were alerted to the fire by a neighbor that knocked on the door of each apartment after reporting the fire to San José Fire Department dispatchers. Assignment:
