Two-alarm fire guts East San José school library
On August 16, 2006 units of the San Jose Fire Department responded to a report of fire at Foothill High School located at 230 Pala Avenue on the city's east side.
Arriving firefighters were confronted with a well-established blaze in a one-story educational building housing a library and computer lab. Efforts to press an interior attack were abandoned due to the rapid spread of the flames. Defensive operations were quickly established including deployment of elevated master streams and multiple exterior hand lines.
Unfortunately the building and contents were a complete loss. It was later determined that the fire was intentionally set with an arrest coming three weeks later. Are you a member of the fire service?
