San José Apartment Blaze Displaces Eight

On Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at 0934 hours, members of the San José Fire Department responded to reports of a residential structure fire in a four-unit apartment building at 1731 Ross Circle.

The crew of Engine 17 arrived to find heavy smoke and fire showing from the windows of an upstairs unit on the C-side of the two-story structure. An offensive fire attack was initiated with the bulk of the blaze knocked down within minutes.

One resident’s pet dog was treated with oxygen at the scene and was transported by the owner to a nearby veterinarian in good condition.

All occupants were able to safely escape the building, but the blaze left eight residents displaced.
