San José Firefighters Tackle Two-Alarm Blaze
On Saturday, October 8 at 8:13 PM, units of the San José Fire Department responded to reports of a fire in a commercial building at 1148 East San Antonio Street near downtown San José.
The first due engine company arrived to find heavy smoke and fire showing from the roof of the 7,210 square foot structure. Firefighters gained access to the interior of the structure in an effort to locate and extinguish the seat of the fire, but crews were withdrawn as operations went defensive.
Firefighters were able to limit the advance of the fire and contain the blaze to approximately 25% of the structure. The Incident Commander called the fire under control at 10:44 PM. There were no reports of injuries to either civilians or firefighters.
