San Jose Firefighters rescue man from tree

On Monday, February 11, 2013 at 7:31 AM, units of the San Jose Fire Department responded to a report of a man trapped in a tree in the area of San Carlos Street and Royal Avenue.

Firefighters located the subject seated in a large tree approximately 40 feet above Los Gatos Creek. The man had apparently climbed from the San Carlos Street overcrossing into the tree after being chased by unidentified individuals several hours earlier.

Members of Truck Company 30 and the USAR Task Force worked quickly to rescue the man from his precarious perch. After lowering a firefighter to the victim he was hoisted from the tree and lifted onto the bridge above.

Once secured from the tree the man was assessed for any injuries and transported to a local hospital.
