Two-Alarm Fire Damages San José Duplex

On June 9, 2015, at 1346 hours, San José Fire Department crews responded to 1642 San Tomas Aquino for multiple reports of a residential structure fire. Firefighters arrived to discover heavy smoke and fire consuming the interior of a one-story duplex.

Initial reports of a child trapped inside the structure proved unfounded, but one dog was removed from the burning building. Despite the intensive effort of firefighters the family pet could not be revived.

Interior crews made a quick knockdown of the fire and prevented extension to adjacent exposures. Three adults and one child were displaced by the blaze and were assisted by the Red Cross.
