San Jose vegetation fire threatens homes
On Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 1059 hours, units of the San Jose Fire Department responded to reports of a brush fire that had ignited in an open field along Singleton Road near Locke Drive.
As the first firefighters began to arrive at the scene additional resources were immediately called in to help attack the fast moving flames being pushed by a steady north wind.
Eventually the fire would grow to a second-alarm, consuming approximately seven acres, with San Jose firefighters being assisted by CAL FIRE personnel including the Alma Helitack crew and their water-dropping Copter 106.
Firefighters were able to successfully contain the fire and protect homes bordering the open field on all sides.

- Engine 18, Engine 24, Engine 26, Engine 28, Engine 31, Engine 21, Engine 6
- Patrol 21, Patrol 31, Patrol 28
