San José Fire Department officially opens new Station 24
Built in 1968, San José Fire Station 24, located at 2525 Aborn Road has stood witness to local history while serving as home to firefighters day-in and day-out year after year. After more three decades of service the old house has finally been replaced by a state of the art facility at the corner of Yerba Buena Road and Silver Creek Road on the city's southeast side.
Member of the San José Fire Department, including firefighters and senior staff, welcomed city officials and neighbors to the new station with a dedication, speeches, refreshments and tours of the facility.
The new station will be home for Engine 24 and Brush Patrol 24 serving the Ashbridge, Silver Creek, Dovehill, Ramblewood, and Windmill Springs neighborhoods. Are you a member of the fire service?
