San José’s Bravest put quick knock on residential structure fire
On Sunday, December 1, 2013, at 0606 hours, units of the San José Fire Department responded to multiple reports of a smoke and flames showing from a home at 4225 Tanbark Street off of Saratoga Avenue in Station 14’s first due.
First arriving crews confirmed heavy smoke and fire showing from the rear of the structure. Crews quickly initiated fire attack and were able to knock down the main body of fire within minutes of stretching an attack line to the D-side of the home.
Additional companies made entry into the home to determine if the fire had extended into the structure’s attic space. A small amount of fire was located and quickly extinguished preventing additional damage to the single story dwelling.
