Two-Alarm fire injures residents, destroys mobile home
On Sunday, March 28, 2010 at approximately 2:35 PM, units of the San Jose Fire Department were dispatched to a reported mobile home fire inside the Casa Alondra Mobile Home Park in South San Jose.
Upon their arrival, first due Engine Company 35 reported heavy smoke and flames showing from the structure with three injured occupants waiting outside the home. All three victims, including one in a wheelchair, suffered burns of varying severity.
Firefighters initiated an aggressive interior attack, but were forced to vacate the double-wide mobile home as conditions deteriorated. A second-alarm was struck as crews worked to protect adjacent exposures successfully confining the fire to the original fire building.
During firefighting operations one firefighter suffered minor burns. The mobile home was completely destroyed by the fire. Are you a member of the fire service?
