Vacant San José warehouse destroyed by fire
On Saturday, September 29, 2012, at 2:20 PM, units of the San José Fire Department responded to 435 East Hedding Street for multiple reports of fire in a vacant warehouse.
Immediately after the initial dispatch Engine 7 reported a large column of black smoke visible. As firefighters arrived in scene a defensive attack was mounted to protect all exposures while applying a large volume of water via aerial master streams and engine deck guns.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the original fire building while protecting nearby apartments and businesses.
The structure was a complete loss and there were no reports of injuries. Are you a member of the fire service?
