Two-alarm lumber yard fire extinguished south of San José
On Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 5:53 AM, units of the San José Fire Department responded to a report from a Santa Clara County Sheriff's deputy of a fire at a lumber yard located at 8149 Monterey Road, in an unincorporated area south of San José.
The fire broke out in the yard of Padula Lumber Company consuming at least one small structure and damaging another. Crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading to additional buildings after putting hand lines into operation and deploying the deck gun on San José Engine 18.
Firefighters from San José were assisted by units from Santa Clara County Fire, CAL FIRE, and South Santa Clara County Fire. There were no injuries reported during the two-alarm blaze. Are you a member of the fire service?
